Senate Bill 6 Analysis

A law where some men are forced to use the woman’s restroom, and some women are forced to use the men’s restroom. A second law to further help in preventing men from raping women in the women’s restroom. These are not two separate laws, but the two differing opinions on Senate Bill 6. One would expect media outlets to choose the two sides equally, but in fact, these media outlets tend to be neutral towards, or against, Senate Bill 6; the reason being that media outlets are companies, and as companies, want to protect their brand. The most telling fact on the issue is that one of the most conservative news site, Breitbart, has only a very slight slant in favor of the bill. The tone of a publication on a topic is paramount to one tactic that many publications use to keep their profits up. The tone is also dependent on the readers of a publication. Many people reading these news sites, regardless of political association, are against Senate Bill 6. The people that these publications consider when deciding the tone of an article covering this topic are the LGBT community and those who are tolerant or supportive of the LGBT community. Only a very small minority of readers are supportive of the bill, while many are against it for various reasons. The way that a publication talks about a topic can change whether people continue or refuse to read the publication. If the publication puts a positive slant on the bill, it would have mainly detrimental effects. It would ostracize, and therefore lose profits from, the LGBT community and those who are supportive or tolerant of the LGBT community. If the backlash got to a certain point, it would be somewhat likely that other publications …show more content…
This means that they only had a slight slant towards their generally conservative views. This is very unusual when one remembers that Breitbart is owned by a white supremacist, and is generally tailored towards the alt-right. To those who already read Breitbart, this is generally what they expect, as the article is still biased towards their views. The opposing side also had little to complain over, as the article was much closer to their views than the average Breitbart article. In this instance, Breitbart took the best path they could. With such a charged topic, showing their usual bias would have caused a large amount of backlash, although that may not have been as large a problem for it as it would be for a local

In fact, it’s quite rare to find a news article that doesn’t include the infamous family name “Trump” either. It’s a constant ongoing battle between the Trump and media sources. After all, he had went from a big television personality to now becoming our president, which no one would have originally seen coming and is a particular nuisance to many as he both dislikes media and tends to make outrageous statements. Yet, many people within America and even outside of America tend to be attracted to this attention to Trump’s administration.…

The power to veto makes the governor awfully powerful in the legislative game. The veto is a negative power in which the governor can say "no" to a piece of legislation when it comes to his desk for passage. Two kinds of vetoes exist for the governor's utilization. A regular veto says no to the entire bill. The other kind of veto available to governors, and not the President of the United States, is the line-item veto.…

Section 5076 of the California Accountancy Act requires peer reviews for any firm, including sole proprietors, performing audit services. Section 5076 is worthy of being included as part of California Law because in theory it is meant to increase the quality of attest and audit work. Peer review is not a perfect system and is very expensive, especially for sole proprietors, but the concept of providing an independent check on the work of auditors is not a bad…

News media has controlled the way information is broadcasted and presented to the public. Articles surrounding constant controversy can be written in different views regarding bias against the major parties involved in a controversy. A great example of these bias in news media is the current ongoing separation and divorce battle between Hollywood heart throb Johnny Depp and soon to be ex-wife Amber Heard. With both parties having their share of fans it is no surprise that media outlets are willing to present bias information to adhere to the overall voice.…

If the immigration position does not say they are from the U.S. they will be transported back to the country that they have come to America from. Many people disagree about this as it is invading people’s privacy. A lot of people that come illegally to America don't even pay the taxes they should. This legislation addressing house bill 186 is of predominant interest to me because I am a student at the University of West Georgia and I believe that every student should feel secure while within his or her institution. This issue also directly impacts my fellow peers and professors as well as my mother, a grade school educator, and her students. From personal experience I have noticed the change in school systems where the building’s security has become more like a prison and less like an inviting community to learn because of the growth in school violence. House bill 186 clarifies the law regarding weapons in school safety zones consisting of any real property owned or leased by a school or postsecondary institution. This bill will amend provisions relating to carrying weapons within certain school safety zones and at school functions.…

For example in the Editorial, the author says, “There is a clear problem with this argument” (“Time to Assert American Values” 179). The sentence is highly opinionated because someone may not think that there is a problem with the argument that “dissidents, democrats and reformers in these countries are somehow less authentic representatives of their cultures than the members of the political elite who enforce oppressive punishments and suppress individual rights” (“Time to Assert American Values 179). This statement is bias based on the fact that democrats of our country are rebels and act out against what they do not believe in when someone may think the opposite. The author of any work can not provide the reader with their own opinions because it will be less likely that the reader will agree with what they are trying to say. In addition to the authors previous biased statements, he/she includes, “A case like Michael Fay’s is important because it provides a chance to challenge an inhumane practice that ought not to exist anywhere” (“Time to Assert American Values 179).…
