The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Friar lied… Kept secrets… Meddled… That started the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. This man seems like a kind person.…
Some may say that there are other factors that made matters worse like her parents leaving her with no other choice but to marry Paris or dishonoring her for the rest of her life and the nurse abandoning her when she was in need the most. However Friar Lawrence is always the one who bring the crisis to a boil. Ultimately Friar Lawrence gave them a death wish from a potion that would end their lives. "What if it be a poison, which the friar Subtly hath minister'd to have me dead,Lest in marriage he should be dishonour'd Because he married me before to Romeo? I fear it is " (4.3.25-28).Friar Lawrence's plan to give Juliet the vial was foolish, it was a sin for Friar to marry someone who was already married…
Friar Laurence could not think of another way of getting Juliet out of her arranged marriage so he told her one option he could think of. The Friar tells her, “Tale thou this vial, being then in bed, and this distilling liquor drink thou off” (Shakespeare, 293). If Friar Laurence had not given Juliet the fake poison, she would have never been put in the position to kill herself. Trusting Friar John to send the letter to Romeo, without telling him that it was urgent, was Friar Laurence’s next big mistake. The mistake to send someone else to do it was blameworthy.…
I have to blame on Friar because he is the only person who knew about the cross star lover couple. He is responsible about their deaths and relationship. Friar invented the poisons and ideas about the relationship on how they should work things on. He has both gave the poison for a reason but both end up being dead and friar is the man who should be responsible. Friar should of just told both family to let them know what is going on but he did not.…
Constantly committing trickery is a flaw, in many people both in real life and in stories, that always leads to unpleasant ends. In William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, two lovers from powerful rival families, the Capulets and the Montagues, are married by a priest, Friar Laurence, without their families’ consent. This action ultimately leads to the deaths of the lovers and many others. All of this happens because of the priest’s determination to mend the rift between the families, even if he has to lie to the families to do it. Friar Laurence’s dishonesty and faithfulness is a clear flaw, expressed by the motif of poison, that leads to the tragic ends of Romeo and Juliet.…
In the story Romeo and Juliet which three characters do you think play the biggest role. Well throughout the story of Romeo and Juliet I believe that the Friar, Romeo, and Juliet have the most impact on the story. But that is my opinion. First off, I believe that if Romeo would have never went to that party he would have never met Juliet and fell in love. He would still been going after Rosaline and wouldn’t have killed himself.…
When the Friar expresses shock at Romeo’s change of heart to Juliet, Romeo responds, “‘Thee chid’st me oft for loving Rosaline.’ ‘For doting, not for loving, pupil mine.’ “And bad’st me bury love.’ ‘Not in a grave…’” (2.3.86-89).…
Being a crucial key in the two lover’s fate, without the Friar, there wouldn’t be a Romeo and Juliet. In hopes of ending the feud of the houses, he hatched a plan and married Romeo and Juliet. When things went wrong AGAIN, he hatched another plan, and gave Juliet the potion that made her appear dead, tricking Romeo into killing himself. She woke up, and meet the Friar, who then left her in a broken, dark state, causing her to do what she said she was gonna do, upon meeting the Friar in his cell after Romeo's banishment, and the news coming out where she is gonna marry Paris, “And I will do it without fear or doubt, To live an unstained wife to my sweet love.” (Act 4, Scene 1, 90, Juliet) Or kill herself.…
Furthermore, Friar Laurence could also be blamed for his failed plan to reunite Romeo and Juliet leading to their tragic deaths. The friar could have chosen any enterprise, that didn’t involve faking Juliet's death and sending a letter to Romeo, which left room for error. When explaining his plan to Juliet, he informs, “If...thou hast the strength of will to slay thyself… take thou this via;... no warmth, no breath shall testify thou livest”(IV.i.72,93,98).…
In the play Romeo and Juliet By William Shakespeare, the cause of death for both Romeo and Juliet was poison. Think of the character that introduced the farce of death via poison to escape marriage. Friar Laurence, in order to prevent the marriage of Juliet and Paris, introduces a last minute plan to fake Julie’s death, thus stopping the wedding. The real problem of Romeo and Juliet was improper planning. One problem of the plan was how rushed it was.…
“A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life, whose misadventured piteous overthrows doth with their death bury their parents strife” ( prologue.5-7 ). Romeo and Juliet were destine to be together, but the unruly actions of their fellow peers caused the unfortunate death of the couple. By the end this tragic incident lead to concluding their families feud. Everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet, but who is responsible for their death? To say they killed themselves would be the obvious response.…
3rd hour Who is to Blame? Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous love stories and probably will be for a very long time. It is a basic story about two star-crossed lovers. They eventually get married, but their families are feuding and Romeo gets banished. The two both end up killing themselves in the name of love.…
“Hold, daughter! I do spy a kind of hope, which craves as desperate an execution” (IV.i. 69-70). When Juliet came to him for help, instead of taking more time to find a solution, for Paris and Juliet’s dilemma, he felt pressured to help Juliet so that she would not commit suicide, and suggested the plan that led to Romeo and Juliet’s death. The Friar would have simply refused not to help the lovers anymore if he used his common sense, instead he succumbed to their desires, again, and formed an impulsive plan in his mind on the spit with out weighing the consequences. Friar Lawrence, who is displayed as a man of god, is actually just as impulsive as Romeo and…
He should have told someone about it instead of keeping everything to himself. The Friar was also the one who created the plan for Juliet to fake her death and get out of marrying Paris. He said he will inform Romeo of their plan, but everything backfired and things did not turn out as planned. If he was to find a better plan or consulted with someone else, he could have found a better way to deal with the problems. He tried to deal with the whole situation on his own, and that did not turn out…
