Firstly we experience humanity engage in selfish decisions. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet’s family, Montague and Capulet respectively, have a grudge that prevents each other from associating with their rival. “ Two households, both alike in dignity... from ancient grudge break to new mutiny” ( Shakespeare 7). Montagues and the Capulets have a feud old as time and this prevents anyone from either family to be in any kind of relationship. This is selfish because Romeo and Juliet were truly in love,but they couldn’t be open about it or they would have been treated like they were the devil in the living flesh. They should not have been punished for a decision that their ancestors made, they should have been allowed to be with whomever
