1. What are your impressions of yourself when see yourself on screen? How does your basic posture look? When I see myself on screen, I feel as though I look rather stiff. My basic posture needs a lot of improvement. During the plie combination, I needed to tuck my hips under, lift my torso, and press my shoulders down. I also need to work on making sure my heels are going over my toes during my grand plies. In combinations such as tendu, degagé, and rond de jambe, I need to make sure my whole leg is turned out rather than being parallel. In the grand battement combination, I should keep my torso and upper body controlled instead of thrusting it to get my leg up higher. In the adagio combination, I have to make sure my leg is behind me during …show more content…
Do you see yourself as a whole or is there a part of your body you look the most when you are performing? What tends to pull your attention? During the barre combinations, I saw myself as a whole. There were things that worked and things that needed improvement, such as the things listed above. However, during the jump combination, I could not stop focusing on my arms. They were moving all over the place and it appeared that I had no control over them. I will try to focus on fixing that during future classes.
3. How is your overall experience of being filmed? My overall experience of being filmed was mediocre. I got nervous when being filmed so I tensed up during many of the combinations. I was worried that I would forget the combination, so I ended up dancing in a stiff manner. Another issue I was worried about during filming was how I would look on camera. When seeing myself, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.
4. Did you imagine yourself moving this way when you were performing the exercises in class? I did not imagine myself moving this way when I was performing the exercises in class. A lot of times, such as in sous-sus, piqué, and soutenu, when I thought my legs were straight, I found out they weren’t. I did, however, feel stiff during class. This was very evident in the
