Self Ownership Essay

Taking ownership of my learning for me will involve proper time management that will allow me to meet all of my obligations in my educational, professional and social life.
My education experience so far at UoPeople has made me realize how much I truly did not know about the topics I am learning, different methods of learning, and how education comes to us in a variety of forms. I have found so far that it is valuable to go back and review what I believed I learned especially after I obtain new information. I believe reviewing previous information will help me to self-assess and monitor my progress to my ultimate educational goal.
The learning of new concepts and ideas is very motivating and it is my desire to obtain new knowledge about subjects

This article was written specifically to discuss the issues in today’s Western culture concerning religion and the way it is perceived by the general population. Three learning theories that will be addressed in this discussion are as follows, self-directed and optimized, transformative, and critical reflection. Chen (2014) investigates “adult learners are self-directed and their learning is optimized when their experience is recognized and utilized in the learning process” (p. 407). Adult students are not 'clear slates' and their background turns into the medium through which substance is found out and in which to rethink new objectives to achieve (Chen, 2014). Self-directed is appropriate for an adult due to the connection that is made with their life experiences, the adult is able to plan and implement learning based upon their desire and initiation to learn. Self-directed is inappropriate for children because children rely upon the teacher as the caretaker to their education and implementation of it.…

Jarriett Hicks Response 1 The Creation Accounts were pretty interesting to read, since I have never read any creation stories besides Genesis. Seneca and Thanksgiving Address are really intriguing as I question the authenticity of the many creation stories worldwide. Are all the stories created based off of one person’s assumption and passed on for centuries? Where is the truth? Despite my epistemological questions, I can say that Thanksgiving Address appears to be the most logical of all stories because of its rhetoric “Now our minds are one” creates a sense of awareness for all cultures, societies and beliefs.…
