What specific steps can I take for the rest of this semester to demonstrate a greater responsibility for myself and my own learning? List 2
Steps I can take for the rest of this semester to demonstrate a greater responsibility are:
(1) I will continue reading before class because sometimes the concept is hard to understand especially in our clinic. I read before the clinic, but I am still confused. Therefore, what I need to do is read more carefully, think about the content, and bring my questions to the clinic, and then try to understand more while practicing and get the answers from peers and faculties. So, my specific steps for the clinic is reading, thinking, understanding, practicing, acting better, getting answers, and improving.

Unfortunately, I am confused with uses of some instruments especially when I was nervous. In clinic, the time is always not enough for us because all professors are busy explaining, teaching, and correcting. I am worried about forgetting to ask all questions I want to ask and being nervous when I have a

It was revealed that the students were uncertain as to how to behave and act, mainly because they were uncertain of what was expected of them. The students also reported a drastic increase in clinical workload, which reduced their study hours. So that as well as successfully implementing them will be a great goal next month. I also know that I haven't been doing as great as I could be in theory class so I feel as though that has affected my "clinical state of mind". I also felt weird about having patients back to back be discharged.…

Junior year of high school a new class was offered for students interested in becoming future educators. I had the opportunity to take this class and observe a Speech Language Pathologist twice a week in a middle school setting. After taking this course and completing observations I knew I wanted to further my education in communication disorders and decided to pursue my undergraduate studies in the field. My first college undergraduate course was Introduction to Communication Disorders. In this class I fell more in love with communication disorders and in the classes to follow I was happy with my decision to become a future SLP.…

On May 20, 2016, my adviser and I sat down to have a discussion about the university required courses and courses that was mandatory for the Liberal Arts college. English 101 was one of the classes I chose to take my first semester because I knew I had more knowledge on writing efficient papers because of my previous AP English courses in high school. In high school, I was always told that I was an adequate writer because I knew the basic of connecting ideas that provided a clear concrete understanding. However, the only time I received an unsatisfactory score was when the information I included in my paper was unorganized. Also, another reason I chose to take English my first semester instead of my second semester was because I knew I needed…

I could not agree more with contemporary blogger Teal Swan’s quote that “We do not fear the unknown; we fear what we think we know about the unknown”. Although I would not describe myself as particularly timorous, as I left my family in the Heathrow departure lounge I admit I had a few reservations: How am I going to live in another country? Will I fit into the Babson campus? Will I make friends? What am I going to do with my family 3,000 miles away?…

    • Identify two areas in which you were effective (and why) and one or two areas you should improve (and why). In simulation this week, I was effective in remembering the majority of the steps for the head to toe (I always seem to forget orientation and capillary refill). I quickly realized at the end if I had left out any steps and by the end of simulation I felt much more confident in completing a head to toe exam. I also did a good job of noticing what my peers missed during their head to toe exam.…

Just like many of my peers, I came to college in order to allow myself a better and more option-filled future to do whatever it is that I decide to set my focus on. However, to obtain the right education and experiences to enable this, goals (both short-term and long-term) must be set. My short-term goals include making A’s in all of my courses this semester, securing an internship for the summer involving animals, and acing all of my chemistry 101 tests. As for my long-term goals, I want to get accepted into veterinary school, maintain a 3.5 or higher GPR as I get my undergraduate degree, and to positively impact others lives with my work.…
