The self-fulfilling prophecy is an expectation of one self through the experiences of other individuals (p. 135). For example, when someone is expected to be deviant, then that someone would have deviant’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors associated with the expectation. This is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Another example is, Asians are good at math, so they are expected to do well in math courses. Thus, because they are expected to do, then they will do well in math courses. Therefore, a self-fulfilling prophecy is an expectation from other people.
