Reflecting back to my self-evaluation, there is a sense of achievement in the amount of contribution I made towards my group presentation. Initially I felt intimidated by one of my classmates. Every time I threw out an idea she shut it down. This group member I conflicted with at first ended up quitting. I took that as my way in to take the leadership role. I was confident to announce my idea proposals and listen to my group members inputs. Informing my group that one of my strong skills is PowerPoints led to them all agreeing I could attribute with that. Three out of four of us kept in touch through emails and I would suggest edits to their works. By the third time we met, my group members would seek my approval for ideas. I was astonished at the leadership role I developed during this third meeting. It became natural and effortlessly I would provide my honest feedback. It all went smoothly until I realized one of our group members hasn't really done any work. At this point I realized, well do I suggest firing him or should I attempt to provide him with an opportunity to show us his skills? I thought of the tasks that were left to do, realizing we needed an outline of each of our slides. This was his only task. More details will follow in each group members evaluation, but I realized I wanted to be the "boss everyone likes" which ended up affecting my group in the end. I did take it upon myself that our restaurant had not been presented to its full potential. It served as a big lesson, I realized in order to be a great leader not everyone has to like

My leadership experience began when my supervisor and his colleagues had an important meeting to attend and had no one sitting in on the office for intake office hours, so he asked me and another intern, Isaiah, to sit in from 9 AM-3PM. My supervisor taught us the main component of this position in 10 minutes. At first, I was nervous because I was new to the agency and it was my first time performing front desk duties. But after a couple of clients I began to get more comfortable and confident with the process because I had performed similar duties when I was in my cubicle. At this moment I felt like I was a leader because I was put in a position where I had minimum training, but still could take control of the office duties, and according to my supervisor, my performance level was beyond expectations.…

Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. With working in groups of students whom I have known since I was young but…

When I started taking the role of event coordinator, I took up greater responsibility than I had ever done before this internship. I am thankful that I was able to successfully organised events.…
