This SPE-567 (Ethics in Applied Behavior Analysis) course has been the onset of my applied behavioral analysis (ABA) post-graduate degree in order to become a certified behavioral analyst (BA). Through the various tasks assigned and group discussions, we have been able to learn and apply all standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board's (BACB) Professional and Ethical Compliance Code (PECC). Not being aware of it is not a reasonable excuse for engaging in unethical practices: code 10.06 (BACB, 2014).

Counselors are obligated to follow these sets of guidelines on a daily basis, in and out of the workplace, and will be reprimanded for violating any given rule. Consequently, the use of a formal code of ethics which in this case that of the APA accompanied by a formal ethical decision-making process is often encouraged to obtain comprehensive solutions (Freeman, 2000).
