Enhancing his self-efficacy may be more effective and practical than improving his self-concept due to the fact that self-efficacy is less stable than self-concept, and changing in terms of time and environment. For example, his father can tell him an own story about how disappointed he was when he missed a great opportunity due to his laziness. This positive attitude will enhance Johnny’s motivation in other subjects. Therefore, his English teacher can pay more attention to Johnny’s performance. For instance, his English can ask Johnny to share his good essay with his classmates. The English can also ask Johnny to tutor others’ English who get off task easily. These strengthen strategies in his strength subject are more practical and effective than in his weakness subject. Although Johnny is good at English, it does not mean he is interested in English.
