We can no longer think for ourselves. For example, one of Father Klots’ students is reading an assigned AP english writing and comes across a word that he does not understand. Usually, and ideally, he would use context clues as he was taught as a young boy or use a dictionary. But now, all he has to do is type the word into Google and immediately, the information is given to him. The entire thinking process is destroyed by Google. With television, it is argued that our society had lost all creative and original thought. What we tend to imagine is what's given to the United States through tv, media, and also the web.Both Orwell and Huxley believed that this would happen to us. We have clear evidence that our society is going backwards, yet we do not try to fix it. This is because our society is too caught up with material things to look at the big picture. Why have we not tried to stop this downward spiral? We need the instant gratification, the movies and shows that take away our imagination because of this we have no patience. There was a news story on a child who tried to swipe a book like an iPad and any high school student knows Google is their main source of knowledge. We have become robots and technology our master; we can no longer think for ourselves and as Postman and Huxley agree, what we love will ruin
