One of my self-defeating behavior patterns is that I waste a lot of time doing unimportant things such as watching television, or the game called “clash of kings”. I remember I started playing this right after I stop smoking. yes , I was a smoker. I start smoking to forget about the issues I had at work, at home and in the society. Failing grades are important; however, getting enough sleep is just as much of a necessity. Ripley stated ¨schools begin before 8 a.m.¨ and then they ¨spend long hours practicing (11). Ripley went on to say that schools start early “despite research showing that later start times improve student performance”(11). All this could be fixed very easily if we just exterminated sports programs. Students need more sleep to perform at their best in school.…

It seems every other week there’s a new article on how scientists should escape the ivory tower and reach out to the “general public.” A lack of public trust in scientists is leading to problems such as delayed action on climate change. In many ways, social media has been a boon, allowing scientists to open the door and bring the public into the ivory tower to poke at our pipettes and scales, smell the chemicals and bobcat urine, taste the day-old coffee and stale pizza, and listen to the hissing of turtles and whistling of fume hoods. At the same time, we are humanizing ourselves with nerdy jokes and excitement over summer blockbusters, squeeing over cute animal pictures, and commiserating over our disappointments or upsetting moments while conducting research. For perhaps the first time in history people have easy access to our labs and our lives, and are able to see…

My personal definition of self-sabotage is an individual who is too hard on themselves or negative about what they can do. An example of this is when a person has a job interview but before even trying has already accepted that they have no chance or won’t get it. They tell themselves that they aren’t qualified enough, which limits their full potential. Their negative attitude sets the mood of the interview and they most likely won’t get the job due to it.…

Been there, and it's self destruction. Most people just want you to be like them, they can't accept you and I mean the real you because your light is just too bright for them so they want you to be at their level of vibration, I learned this the hard way because I wanted to be friends with people who I though were good for me, but they're not, they always expect so much of you and it's never enough and the worst is when you see the good in them and want to help them to see it too because you think they can change but most of those people don't want to change they like where they are just send them love and let them go. Our school is extremely bad about about leaving trash everywhere. They’re decisions are turning our school and athlete’s down tremendously. The problem on our campus consists of the students throwing trash on the ground, leaving empty soda cans and bottles outside on the benches, and dropping napkins and other trash on the cafeteria floor. I think this is an extremely big problem, but I also think the students are just continuing to be rude and lazy about this situation. Our school needs to find a way to help prevent this issue.…

Tobacco smoke is the leading cause of preventable premature mortality worldwide. Smoking tobacco or generally smoking is a learned behavior that gives birth to a physical addiction to nicotine for the greater part of smokers. For that reason, stopping smoking can be hard for many persons, and it is suggested that intercessions incorporate behavioral and pharmacological support. The interventions to terminate smoking are commonly affected by theories of behavior change; including the Trans-theoretical model the Social Cognitive/Learning theory (Frederiksen et al, 1979). Key aspects of the various models include a focus on the importance of motivation, self-efficacy, consideration of barriers and benefits to change, subjective norms, attitudes, and cues to action.…
