Self-critique
The overall interviewing process was interesting to complete with “Precious”. As her social worker, I was pleased to be able to assess her and provide her with the care, support, and help she needed to overcome the issues she is dealing with at home. At first, the interview process was difficult due to not knowing exactly how to use the forms. However, as I continued to complete each section of the assessment questions, I began to be more familiar to the overall process.
My role as “Precious’s” school social worker was motivating to me because I eventually would like to become a professional school social worker after graduation. This allowed me to place myself into a role that in the future will be my career. I think the role of a school social worker is vital due to the fact that there are students that will need extra support from professionals based on their

This was helpful to become comfortable using these forms, asking the proper questions and providing treatment plans to the client. The interview process’s was easy to follow with the help of the client and the information provided. As the assessment continued on, the questions became clearer to understand and complete. While there were sensitive questions that needed to be asked from the client, it was a good opportunity for her to express her feelings and thoughts towards the subject. Other strengths include the ability to discuss possible treatment plans that are appropriate for the client based on cultural consideration. Cultural consideration when planning a treatment plan is important due to the need to understand what the client is going to be able to perform within her current environment and culture. With this, the client will be able to follow the treatment plan with the support of her school social worker based on what is appropriate for her and her
