As I gathered my items and proceeded to the checkout stand, I had a choice; go to a normal checkout stand or go to a self checkout stand. I chose the one I felt would do the task required in the least amount of time; the self checkout. This programmed machine was able to scan my items and take my money in little time compared to the human run checkout stand. Many times at human run checkout stands, the performance of the employee is slowed down by talking and their own skill at their job. Many people around the world are impatient and care about their time.
