Prior to the session the group established some guidelines in order to keep the session from conflict. The first guideline the group members wrote on the board was respect. Respect will always be an important part of a group for the sake of everyone being able to voice their opinion without any side comments. Also, confidentiality is what I placed on the board. For example, many issues clients raise in therapy includes loss. During termination, group therapy becomes a place for experiencing, processing, and coping with those feelings at hand. When it is time to terminate you are to go through the entire process starting from the beginning of the session to the end and discover what positive or negative changes were encountered. Although this group assessment was only an hour long I did manage to make a termination for the time being. At the end of the session we processed how we felt at the beginning of the assessment compared to the ending of the session. Participants explain how the stressors that they felt prior to the session were less stressful after talking about it and completing exercises. There were no emotional reactions towards the termination process because we had not been a group for a long time. as students of the social work program we are not allowed to follow up with the participants but if this was a long-term session I would
