Self-Awareness Assessment

When I compare my assessment with my wife the difference was 27 which I felt was very high. When you look at our self-awareness assessment my score was 18 and my wife was 10. This is still a shock to me after knowing her for about 25 years. The one question that I felt my wife assessment on herself was no accurate in my opinion was “I recognize how my feelings affect my performance”. She is currently on medication from her dealing with the war while in the military. This I feel has affected our relationship because I remember my wife before the war and her outlook I feel was different but I really don’t know why. The results mention about individuals who do not capitalize on their strengths which my wife once was one of the strongest person

The study also showed that changes in a soldier’s mood and short-term memory impact a couples relationship and ability to communicate, and almost all couples indicated the post-mTBI symptoms impacted their marital relationship. Many spouses reported feeling as though they were “walking on eggshells”, congruent with the soldiers account of irritability. Family reintegration was also influenced by the spouse’s prior reintegration experience and the soldier’s length of time in the military. Generally, soldiers with longer time in the Army and more mature marriages were better able to adapt to post-injury changes and a “new normal’ than newly married couples whose Army careers had recently begun. Unlike other studies, this study included accounts from both soldiers suffering with mTBI and their spouses, offering a greater understanding of the challenge married couples face following post-mTBI…

This score did not surprise me because understanding and reading people’s emotions has always been an asset of mine. In social and some professional settings I am able to have an overall sense of how people are feeling and not take their feelings personally. It is easy to see someone’s emotions and think you influenced them, but I am able to take a step back and dig deeper into those feelings. My lowest score was a 67 under Personal Competence for Self-Management. I was expecting scores in the mid 70-90 rang for the both the Self and Social Competence category.…

The idiom, “you have one mouth and two ears, so you should listen twice as much as you talk,” makes sense. However, it has been hard to implement this idea in my life. Throughout the history of the science of psychology, researchers, clinicians, and theorists have all attempted to answer the question “what makes us uniquely human?” It is obvious to the untrained observer of nature how humans are different from other mammals in the animal kingdom: humans can think rationally and logically, have feelings and emotions, develop more slowly than any other mammal, and are able to work together on a massive scale to form sprawling civilizations. When one steps back and looks at the bigger picture, most of what makes us human all boils down to the fact that humans are self-aware. Being self-aware is more than simply being consciousness, or being alert and oriented in the environment. Every mammal is conscious to…

Self reflection is the mental process that acquires knowledge and understanding through thoughts and experience which helps encourage self awareness. This essay focuses on assessing my objectives and how I have developed my skills from the beginning of this semester until now. At the start of semester A, I wasn’t confident in preparing for the skills sessions and workshops. I wasn 't always able to find the correct answers to the workshop questions set which made it relatively difficult for me to participate in lectures despite finding myself at the library every other day. I began by listening to knowledge based lectures online and making notes alongside the recommended reading given by my lecturers or the module guide.…
