Self Assessment

Honestly, I’ve never really given these self-assessment tests or personality checks much attention. However, this particular one really has me thinking. After completing the assessment, my personality type according to the four letter score is ENFJ. “E” means I’m extroverted which means I’m an outgoing, sociable person. “N” means I’m intuitive which means I act off of my instincts. “F” is for feeling which means I’m compassionate and sympathetic towards others. Thinking back on some past situations though, I realize that I have been extremely judgmental without even thinking about it. So now that my personality has been broken down into a four letter score of ENFJ and seeing what each letter stands for, I clearly agree with …show more content…
I would have to say that about 90% of my personality as it pertains to my decision making is instinctive. I like to refer to it as my gut feeling. There have been several situations in my life where my gut feeling has been correct and has led me to making the right decisions. A prime example would be a few of my past relationships. This thinking led me to do my own investigating to find the truth. Unfortunately, the truth was bitter. I definitely have always been compassionate towards others when it comes to their issues. I always try to place myself in their situation by telling myself that could easily be me. The ironic part about this though is that here is where the judgmental side of me comes out. My result from the Jung typology test was ISFJ. I got a 34% score for the I, a 16% score for the S and the F, and a 56% score for the J. The “I” stands for introvert and with a score of thirty-four percent, it means that I have a moderate preference towards introversion versus extraversion. The “S” stands for sensing and my score of sixteen percent indicates that I have a slight preference for sensing over intuition. The “F” stands for feeling and my score of sixteen percent means that I have a slight preference for feeling over thinking. Finally, the “J” stands for judging and my score of fifty-six percent shows that I have a moderate preference for judging over perceiving.…

My highest scores were in the sentences associated with the letters e, n, f, and j. I am not surprised by being identified as an extrovert, intuitor, feeler, and judger (ENFJ). I have taken similar surveys in the past and rated the same. An extrovert is seen as being energetic and enjoying the company of others. I feel as though feeling coincides with being an extrovert. I am a social butterfly.…

Everyone Needs Fulfillment and Joy (ENFJ) If asked what the letters “ENFJ” stood for, many a passerby on the street could answer correctly, “Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging,” a personality type based on the popular Myers-Briggs Type Indicator questionnaire. Some disregard the growing interest in personality tests as a fad, but that does not dismiss the fact that America has become increasingly concerned with personality, specifically with that of the extroverted student. In the article “Bring On the Elites!”, Joel Stein argues that education should better prepare students for the future, and many teachers use this reasoning to justify a focus on nurturing communicative abilities key to extroverted personalities. However, despite…

Assessment one “My Basic Personality” showed that I was indeed an ENTJ. Those of the ENTJ personality type are born leaders. They can become frustrated and impatient when things don’t unfold according to their expected plan or time frame, evoking notions of the “Type-A” personality (Drenth, n.d.). Assessment two “Ambiguity” showed me something new about myself. Having intolerance of ambiguity means that you tend to perceive situations as threatening rather than promising (Robbins, 2008).…

Self-assessment can be a very difficult task. I think that honesty is very difficult for most people when it comes to facing who a person really is and how they are perceived in reality. Although honest self-assessment is the foundation for making positive changes in your life, this can be one of the hardest task that anyone will have to go through (Bethel University,2014). Self-assessment can apply to both personal and professional life. When you sit back and think about how you truly are, you can determine strengths that can be used to help others in need or encourage someone.…
