Self-assessment : strengths, talents, interests, values, and your concept of life success and satisfaction. A self-assessment is done to help your determine future education and career goals that match your strengths and ideas of success.
I love studying about nutritional facts and how human bodies request and respond to nutrition on a daily basis. It keeps me on a healthier diet, a better lifestyle. I feel more confident and in more control of my own life since I started taking care of my diet and exercise. I want other people to feel the same way as I do by caring more about their diet. One of my strengths is the desire to serve people and interpersonal skill. It is a satisfaction for me to interact with people, either coworkers,

It is where I can learn and grow the most. There are a lot to learn from each patient and how to treat them. The task is different from day to day and provides me with challenging opportunities to push my boundaries and expand my knowledge. It is also not too hard to find a dietitian position at hospitals. To achieve the career, I may need a graduate degree and several hours of clinical work experience.
In 10 years, I hope to have a good job by then, ideally in a hospital or a clinic. My goal is to gain a good, deep understanding of dietetics and how to excel in my job. I would be able to enjoy what I do and yearn to make the best out of the chances provided to serve customers/ patients. I would love to be able to positively affect all the people I meet, bringing them a change and I myself can learn something from their changes. My wished accomplishment would be that I am experienced and understanding enough by then to promote to higher position.
If not accepted to BYU’s Didactic Program in Dietetics, I would look for other internship options in Utah or out of state internships. Since a lot of internship programs now require the GRE test, I will have to prepare myself for the test in order to access to a wider variety of

I feel it is my duty to my patients to increase my knowledge. Another value of mine is eating a well-balanced nutritional diet and encouraging others to do so. I have a desire to understand why people choose unhealthy diets. I believe that a portion of the general public does not have the knowledge to establish the necessary habits to sustain healthy outcomes. I am completing a nutrition course that I began prior to enrolling in this BSN program.…

After reading a few chapters of Strengths Quest, I was instructed to participate in the Strengths Finder assessment (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006). This 30 minute assessment was an interesting tool that pointed out my greatest strengths. It also provided a detailed description of what having those strengths mean and examples of how they are prominent in a person 's life. After taking the StrengthsFinder survey, I discovered that my five dominant strengths are empathy, harmony, consistency, relator, and restorative.…

disorders often go undiagnosed and untreated in primary care (Harbin, 2003). This indicates that while treatments are available for mental illness, there are provider and system-level barriers to the effective delivery of these services. Respect, ensuring inclusion and full participation of consumers in all aspects of their lives is crucial in achieving recovery. Giving respect to aid in recovery is respectful communication and behavior and using person first language. Respect is understanding that mental illness knows no cultural or ethnic boundaries thus providers must consider cultural humility and be sensitive to the beliefs and customs of the community (Pratt et al., 2011).…

Growing up, I have always wanted to dedicate myself to doing something special in life. I was born in a village in Mexico where public health and education were very limited. I recall, one day, accompanying my mother to a ladies house where there was a sick child. My mother was one of the women in the village who would take care of the sick; she learned everything she knew from my grandmother. When we got there, I saw my mother prepare some medicine and giving it to the ill child.…

Through this process of self-evaluation, I have a better understanding of who I am and what I want to become. It has brought into focus all the traits I like about myself as well as where I can improve. These assessments also exposed contradictions between some of the beliefs I have about myself and what has been found to be true. I am not surprised to find that my Jungian Typology is an INFJ – A (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging & Assertive), known as the Advocate. As an Advocate, whose core motivation is to be humanitarian-driven and idealistic, it explains why I receive such satisfaction from my job, which has been proven to be a challenge for me in the past.…

Describe your qualifications for participation in this program. Please include any example coursework that fostered your interest in research. I am well qualified for participation in the program as I have expressed and held a strong interest in the sciences over my high school career, despite living in a rural area. I have been able to develop my skills in the sciences greatly because of this interest. Due to my strong desire to expand my knowledge in science and mathematics, I requested to take courses earlier, and was able to start freshman year by taking Chemistry and Algebra 2 instead of conventional ninth grade courses.…

Dietitians do not just teach patients to watch their diets, but motivate them to make healthier food choices to meet their nutrition needs. After comparing Texas Christian University, Texas State University, and the University of Texas at Austin, based on my criteria of school population, location of the school, and strength of the program, the University of Texas at Austin would be the best choice in helping me pursue my career in dietetics. Although it takes a few years of hard work to become a dietitian, it is a very rewarding and satisfying career due to the fact that you know you are helping others. My goal is to pursue a career in dietetics, but more specifically, as a clinical dietitian. There is a broad range of specific careers…

A self-assessment is a thorough evaluation of one’s self and actions and attitudes. When thinking about personal self-assessment approaches or ideas, there are seven theories that come to play when describing a person’s self-assessment. All humans are required to have contrasting personalities and in doing so, scientist and personality theorists come up with several approaches that distinct human beings from one another; some people may have the same personalities, some people may have the same personalities, these seven approaches are what describes people in general. The seven approaches are Freudian, Neo-Freudian, Trait, Biological, Humanistic, Social/Behavioral, and Cognitive. Not each person will have the same approach to their personal…

During this week’s reading assignment we were introduced to a “self-assessment” test (Bethel University, 2014). This test is geared towards teaching the student where his/her strengths and weaknesses may be as a student. To be perfectly honest, the first time reading this section I skimmed over it and did not pay it much attention. I simply looked over the questions, but did not take the time to answer them. While going back and actually setting a moment aside to answer them, I found the information gathered to be enlightening.…

Thus far, how to study in college has been one grand experiment. I have only had one exam, so I am not sure how well my strategies will serve me in the long term. I would say that I had good study skills in high school, but these skills were very limited in scope: they allowed me to memorize a lot of content for a short time, and then allowed the content disappear from my brain not long after the exam or the AP test. My main method for history, vocabulary, and math concepts was flashcards. I did not study them every day, unless the topic was particularly difficult, and mainly my studying was focused on a few days, or the day, before the test.…
