Self Assessment: A Trusting Relationship

Decent Essays
The self-assessment also showed that I am on the in-group side. I agree with my results because I also tend to be close with my managers. Typically I attempt to form a trusting relationship with management the moment I start the job because I see this to be the most important factor in being on the in-group side. After the trusting relationship is formed, other factors of being on the in-group side begin to take place such as having the manager recognize my potential and listening carefully to what I have to say.

Task 2 – The Big Five Factor Personal Assessment (Low, middle, High) Explanation of assessment Openness to experience Middle I am a person who is open to new experiences, curious about how things work around with lots of ideas flowing in however I prefer things to be straightforward and to settle difficult situations subtlety. In my future career, I would be open to new ways of doing things but would be very critical in the way it is done. Conscientiousness High…

Self Assessment Analysis: Listening One major communication flaw of mine is my inability to listen to others at times. The idiom, “you have one mouth and two ears, so you should listen twice as much as you talk,” makes sense. However, it has been hard to implement this idea in my life. I have noticed in conversations that I sometimes “check out” and start thinking about other things, completely ignoring the person talking.…

Even though I learned about scientific research and observations in school and how to apply them to science experiments. The first scale I chose was the self-esteem scale. After filling out this scale I believe that I was high on that particular trait. But, I feel like the scale did a reasonably good job in assessing the trait of self-esteem. The only reason why I personally believe that the scale did not do a great job in assessing the trait is because of a couple of the questions. For example, the fourth question asks “I seldom feel blue”.…

Interpersonal trust is an important concept that, if further understood, can give a greater insight into how human relationships work and the processes that lead to decision making in social situations. Interpersonal trust can be defined as the belief that the person who is being trusted will do what is expected or desired, and entails the interaction between two parties: party one, the trustor, who is willing to rely in the actions of party two, the trustee. Furthermore, for a trust situation to be established, the trustor has to abandon control over the actions performed by the trustee, which will lead to an uncertainty on sides of the trustor, leading to a risk situation that may occur, if the trustee does not behave as wanted (Mayer et al. (1995) ; Bamberger, Walter (2010)).…
