Theme Of Self Alienation In Oedipus

Self alienation is an act of isolating oneself from society, and leaving one 's dignity and honor alongside it. One doesn 't simply wake up with an ambition to be shut away. There is usually a train of thought that eventually pushes individuals to throwing themselves into isolation. It usually lead by a guilty consciousness or an corrupted mind that persuades one into believing that they are the reason behind a tragic event.

He is a honorable king, even though he is marked with a touch of narcissism he still is a virtuous man. He truly cares for his people just like a father would care for his children. “Poor children!You may be sure I know All that you longed for in your coming here. I know that you are deathly sick; and yet. Sick as you are, not one is as sick as 1.”(“Oedipus” 5). Being a perfect candidate for the tragic hero, of course he has the quality of a honorable man. But the qualities can only take a man a certain distance in life. In the process of Oedipus discovering his true nature, he is given the news that, the plague causing his people to suffer is the result of the king’s murder lurking within the city.So? She very well knows that Creon is corrupted in search of power. Though he finally achieved the throne after causing bloodshed between brother he still needs to convince the citizen of Thebes that he earned the throne and not cheated it. “And our two brothers died, Each killed by the others sword.”(“Antigone” 4.
