The whole country was backed up on spending money for national security, and some even claimed that “[We] shall have no other business, no other aim in life, but primitive self-defense” (Document C). What a veteran means to me. The dictionary definition of a veteran is, a person who has has long experience in a particular field of the military, or a person who has served in the military. Federally, a veteran is someone who has served in ANY war, in ANY branch of military for ANY length of time. If you served in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps or Navy you are considered a veteran.
