Employee selection is an important part of the hiring process. Choosing who to hire and persuading them to accept the offer of a team member position at Chick-fil-A are both critical parts of the strategic staffing process. Some candidates are so exemplary that to prevent them from accepting other companies’ offers, Chick-fil-A must quickly offer to hire them prior to evaluating all their potential job candidates for a team member at Chick-fil-A. The selection goals for the position of a team member at Chick-fil-A include finding qualified employees who will be successful at Chick-fil-A. Having good customer service skills is vital to being a successful employee at Chick-Fil-A because that is one of the things Chick-Fil-A is known for; by providing excellent, upscale type service to customers in a fast-food restaurant. Communication skills are also needed because a team member at Chick-Fil-A will be dealing with people during their entire shift at Chick-Fil-A, whether it be customers or co-workers a team member at Chick-Fil-A must know how to effectively and efficiently communicate. An employee must be courteous to customers, handle their questions and issues in an easy-going manner and demonstrate a keen knowledge of Chick-Fil-A’s products and services. Punctuality is key when working at Chick-Fil-A and will help determine the job performance of the employee because if an employee is dedicated to showing up for work on time and staying their entire shift each time they are scheduled to work will help to make the restaurant run smoothly and efficiently.
