The mural was painted in 2007 which included help from some of the students from Bowie High School. The mural can be found on the outside of the gymnasium at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The mural describes some very famous and well known residents of the barrio past and present to include Pancho Villa, who is sitting in the corner, and in front of him is a plate of enchiladas and a large order of Chicos Tacos, which makes the connection to El Paso. Another interesting part that is depected in this mural is that instead of the Statue of Liberty it shows the Virgin Mary welcoming people from across the river which is the Rio Grande with a flashlight and a towel, which makes the connection to importance of religion to the Mexican
