In 1957, a group of African Americans were persecuted on because of their race. In 1954 the United States Supreme Court declared public school segregation in Brown v. board of education. As they tried declaring this, some disagree, although some agreed on the rule. During September, the public school ruling was tested for the first time, where nine African American students were enrolled into an all-white school. On September 4, as they try to enter, they are turned away by the national guards. On September 23, the school was surrounded by protesters and police officers, as the police escorts the students to class. On September 25, the little rock nine, under pressure, entered the school from the front entrance. Also, dealing with angry white mobs verbally abusing the students with threats and physically abusing the black reporters, this event went worldwide. The struggle that these young African Americans faced is indescribable. They had so much hate trait expressed in so many shapes and sizes. As the 50’s went by, so many interviews and debates were being held by the reporters on the scene. While they were going thru this conflict, reporters were taking explicit footage. This had an effect on all American and African American history.
As a result, in the late 50’s segregation was reduced in schools. Over the years there was much controversy and debates over the blacks attending a segregated school.
