Seeing The Thing Analysis

The production of the play Almost, Maine performed by students at Florida Southern College is an overall “A”. Though it is not the greatest or the most memorable play that has been produced on the Buckner stage, but it nonetheless was a well performed and routine work with portraying the rise and fall of love through the magic of comedy and heart-break. The actor whom stood out the most to me was Joey Hedrick portraying Dave in the final scene, “Seeing the Thing”.

Joey Hedrick as Dave, showed his super objective of trying to finally get the thoughts out of the love oblivious, Rhonda, by a simple painting of a heart signifying his proclaimed love for her. His beat-to-beat objective shows an eagerness to go into her house, which he has been

Gender inequality in the workplace is prevalent now and has been for hundreds of years even with the presence of laws and policies that forbid it. Kristen Schilt the author of “Just One of the Guys?” targets how natural difference schemas shape today’s workplace and reinforce gender inequality. She does so by using both open and stealth transmens’ experiences in the workplace to provide examples of how natural difference schemas are prevalent and hard to undo. Schilt also highlights how race, height, sex, and masculinity can benefit or hurt one's place in work world. Before understanding how natural difference schemas shape the workplace, fully understanding what a natural difference schema is necessary.…

This play was one of the longest plays I had ever sat in on, but it didn’t feel like it. The characters and the story kept making me want more. It was that good! This play, however, did provide more than just entertainment. It provided a sense of wonder, wonder about the lives of the characters, what they felt, what they thought, and what they did.…

For this assignment, I am referring to the play The Cuttlefish by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz. Using our text as a guide, a well-made play "disregards the classical utilities in favor of the unpredictable structure of dreams, exploiting the individual, subjective mind for their overall shape. " In this regard, The Cuttlefish is certainly a well-made play. The play is full of psychology and psychoanalysis that, according to August Strindberg are the very qualities of what a play…

Imagine yourself living in a community of people who are nothing like you, and will never become like you. In Varley’s “Persistence of Vision” the Keller community is full of deaf-blind people who have created their own way of living to better help themselves survive. The Kellerites are welcoming to any visitors that want to experience how they deaf-blind live, however, these visitors may not want to stay very long. Anyone who decides they want to step into the world of the deaf-blind society have to be prepared to experience a world of “bodytalk.” Although the Keller community is welcoming, I claim that anyone visiting will have a difficult time wanting to stay because they will never feel like they are fully a part of their world.…

On April 22, I, along with the cast of CSI’s production of Romeo and Juliet, made our way to Twin Falls High School’s Roper Auditorium to see the very anticipated Thoroughly Modern Millie performed by the Bruin High Players (BHP), written by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, directed by James Haycock. I was ecstatic to see how the show had turned out, having worked with the cast before. I couldn't wait to see if the tap lessons that the cast had started taking months before the production had worked out! The production turned out to fulfill my expectations- which were very high expectations- and absolutely dazzle myself and the audience. The play takes place in good ol’ New York, New York where dreams are made true- at least that's what Millie…

To manipulate one’s audience, one must “give them pleasure. The same pleasure they have when they wake up from a nightmare.” Award-winning director , Christopher Nolan clearly portrays this in his films through his trademark directorial style of editing with specific use of non-linear narrative and mise en scene to create tension for his audience Through closely analysing the open scenes of Nolan’s Memento (2000) and Inception (2010), the audience can understand Nolan’s directorial style and the recurring theme of the protagonist’s struggles. Nolan’s trademark techniques are effectively used to manipulate and entertain his contemporary audience and making them question their own identity, existence, and morality through the problems…

The second question I would ask the individual would be to verify the time and date of the events that they witnessed. It's best to establish the eyewitness's accounts.…
