Security In Schools In America

Schools in America believe that they have security precise, but are they really doing everything they can to protect the future of America. Since 2002 crimes from drugs, to shootings, to theft has increased in schools. Security in schools is a problem, but can be prevented through the use of cameras, better school structures, and off-duty police officers. In a five year total from 2009 to 2013 476,803 crimes in schools have been reported to police. Security cameras are a must have item for schools in America to protect the youth. Cameras in schools provide a sense of security for students as well as an eye witness to prove the crimes. They prevent more crimes by spotting the potential problem early. The structures of schools can either help security or make it easier for a crime to happen there is no middle. The prospered structured school need to have gates surrounding the school with only one entrance and exit. The use of gates and only one entrance and exit helps prevent class skipping, kidnappings, shoot and runs, helps knowing who goes in and out of the school, and easier for the school to conduct lockdowns by closing the entrance. The building structure should have as few buildings a possible making them two to three stories tall. The fewest possible buildings help lockdowns to be ready to conduct in nearly minutes, also it helps police clear the buildings when they arrive on lockdowns and other crimes. Proper building structure provides the use of intercoms in every classroom to alert and update on lockdowns and what instructions to do in the situation. The structure of the building also helps make it easier to find students who skip class and the use of drugs limiting the space they have to hide. School structure is very important for safety in our schools, but for fast on scene action schools we need off duty police officers and drug
