Growing up I've always had the challenge of understanding who I was and my role in the world as a Seventh-Day Adventist in a secular school society. Because of that, I knew that my experience as a student would be unique in terms of extracurricular involvement. For instance, being a member of the Cypress Creek marching band was a great part of my high school career but difficult in terms of compromising between my religious beliefs and my music interests. However, I learned a lot from my time within the organization that I can use those skills to serve my community. Continuing on with marching band became more and more difficult with each year to a point where it impeded on my spiritual growth because the investment to both parties were insufficient,
