How Agreeable are the Secrets of Successful College Students? “Secrets of the Most Successful College Students,” by Annie Murphy Paul presents the reader with ideas that change their perspective about college courses. The article further explains the experiences of different college students, and how they became successful in their journey to a career. Annie Murphy Paul states in her first paragraph that evidence “...suggests that the most significant thing about college is not where you go, but what you do once you get there.” I thoroughly agree with her evidential statement. The statement suggests that if one can’t afford or get a scholarship to an elite college they can still study the major they desire. Along with studying the major they want, they should follow their passions. One should move “...by curiosity, interest, and fascination, not by making the highest scores on a test.” as well said by Neil deGrasse Tyson. Just like Grande, I would think of people as characters and how I could use them as a reference for a character I wanted to write about. Another career I thought I wanted to pursue would be a saxophone player. Like Tia Fuller, I thought about going to college and playing the saxophone but, soon realized I wasn’t all that musically talented and it didn’t make me all that happy. Although both careers have sounded like great options in the past, I no longer think I will pursue them.
