Even in the first scene of the play Tybalt, Gregory, Sampson, Benevoli and Abraham fight over petty insults. Soon after the fight started the Prince of Verona said that the feud had, “made Verona’s ancient citizen cast by their grave beseeming ornaments, to wield old partisans, in hands as old”(1:1:84-86). The mere fact that the citizens of Verona were so afraid for their lives they started carrying weapons showed the urgency needed to end the feud. Not only were the citizens of Vernos physical health harmed, but their emotional health too. In the midst of the sword fight a resident of Verona started shouting vile speech on both sides of the feud. The hate that flows through this man's veins can cause a negative impact on this person’s physical health. These emotions that have repeatedly been shown throughout multiple characters Romeo and Juliet can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, and poor circulation according to the Huffpost (Dr. Cynthia). Friar Lawrence, perhaps not to this degree, did know the effects of someone’s emotional health on their physical health, as he was aware that Lady Montague died because of her grief of Romeo’s exile. Presented with these facts, it seems only logical for Friar Lawrence to keep Romeo and Juliet love a secret in hopes that their marriage would end this
