In the world today we have many things that are harmful and dangerous to us. Ordinarily, when we think of someone causing you harm, it is not so close to home. Your mother and father are the furthest from your mind of people who would do something to harm you. In many cases, they are the people who can do the utmost harm. In this review I would like to determine if children ages unborn to eighteen with daily exposure to tobacco smoke have a predisposition to develop the medical condition of Asthma. Researchers are still looking to find ways to end this vicious cycle and stop these preventable deaths, it is up to the parents to be strong for their children and quit now. The sooner the better. There are many people trying to fight for children’s rights. I feel that we could be doing more for these defenseless children whose only role model would more likely poison them with secondhand smoke than quit smoking. While we do have laws for this, it isn’t stopping the problem. Maybe if there were some type of technology that would allow the car to turn off or not start if a cigarette was lit. That would be a great thing. Over thirty states have laws passed requiring smoke free restaurants and bars (US.H&HS 2010). If cigarettes are killing so many people and they are so unhealthy we should enact legislation to declare them illegal. The only reason they aren’t illegal right now is due to how much money is being made from taxes from the sale of cigarettes. Any other drug that kills people is banned and illegal, but not this one. For sure, not enough is being done about this issue. It affects each person but conversely no one is standing up for it. People are always going to find a way to achieve what they want and that is unfortunately at the expense of
