Second World War Challenges Essay

After World War II ended when the U.S. used the atomic bombs on Japan, Washington was set to face many more challenges in the following decades. Some of these could of been unseen repercussions of the prior war, or might’ve been challenges caused by the advancement of technology. Though all different these challenges all did the same things, creating the Washington we know today.

During the second World War the Soviets and the U.S.A. were both allies due to their similar interest in defeating the Axis Powers, the group of military participants who opposed the allied forces. All of this needs to be put somewhere or you might contaminate the air and poison citizens. Nearby pastures and ranches where there animals grazed complained about having a high cancer rate and it led back to the waste being placed into landfills. Though the facility did create jobs for the economy, it generally wasn't efficient for what is was worth. Politics would show the nuclear site as a more efficient way to make energy but citizens who live near the site wouldn’t feel the same way.

After World War II, soldiers had to come back and readjust to society, but since most of the supplies and war efforts were going towards the war, this caused a sudden high demand of houses and timber but not a lot of actual supply, so instead of jobs being lost more jobs were created, boosting the economy and employment rate. This also caused a baby boom because of the age of all the returning soldiers.
