It represents how many people will need to come to break even. When 241 people show up, the budget will break even. Gradually, as 241 breaks even, $2410 will be our current revenue. The reason that it is 241 people and not 240 is because if you had 240 people show up, the revenue would be 2400, the cost is $2007.19 and you can’t go below budget. As time progresses, our current flow of revenue will make a significant increase.…
Ms. Williams said that she spoke with you regarding my summer semester. Meal plan is not available for the summer and therefore cannot be billed into my student account, however, shouldn't the scholarship still cover it? What about the books? If the scholarship cannot cover them, that's fine.…
Until very recently, I have had little to no knowledge or contact with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture and heritage. My knowledge came from sections of high school history classes. Before entering ABST100, I had a broad understanding on the history of colonization, Indigenous Australians themselves, and on Indigenous Identity. However, over the duration of both Week 1’s tutorial and lecture, I quickly noticed that the course content for Introducing Indigenous Australia was very different from my other subjects, where it allowed me to gain an exceptional amount of knowledge and broaden my views on Indigenous Australia and Indigenous Australians.…
This week in field was not too busy, but was busy enough to allow me to experience and complete new tasks. Although the tasks completed this week were not very challenging, they allowed me to come in contact with some of the competency skills. Competency skill 9 was re-introduced from last week. I was to report to the Arthurtown site and intern under the supervision of Ms. Julia. Ms. Julia had me continue to sort through employee files; looking for forms any of the teachers may have been missing or needed to update.…
I am now half way through with Summer Session II and the transition between high school and college has been exciting, but also overwhelming. A few differences I have noticed between my high school classes and my college classes are the size difference, the diversity in students, and the faster pace. In my high school, the average number of students in each class was about 25 to 35 compared to my biggest class now at about 200 students. Additionally, the students in my class before were mainly Hispanic, but now everywhere I look I am able to see people of different cultures and that is something that is so important to me. The reason for this is that, while I did not grow up in a diverse area, I believe that growing up around different people…
Here, I have collected the works, which, I believe, I did badly and which I used as starting points in improvement of these skills. I think, I didn't succeed in my Week 3 Reflections because of lack of proper analysis. However, I have improved after it and started to write Week Reflections with more thoughts and details, as you can see form my later works. In Essay#3 Draft#1 I again did the similar mistake I have used too much sources of which I did too few analysis. I changed it by focusing only on Games of Thrones in the later drafts and by writing more on every draft.…
For my final portfolio, I chose to revise a shorter essay, “Potential Ramifications of a Trump Presidency,” and a longer essay, “Assignment 7: Finding Place Research Project.” I chose these two essays specifically because of their differences. The former is shorter, more informal, and includes more of my thoughts and opinions. The latter is a longer research paper, and thus is more formal and less biased as I attempted to give a brief history of gentrification and its impacts on East Liberty.…
The final four Thursday evening SUST lectures were successful conclusions to a year of interesting, compelling and self-shaping lectures as a part of the SUST 1000/1001 classes. Again, the different backgrounds of the presenters, along with some dynamic presenting styles, kept the lectures engaging and relevant to a variety of aspects of the SUST program and my life. Despite the different topics, I found that all 4 lectures touched upon the idea of communities, as being central to sustainability, over current values of capitalism. The values of learning, sharing and growing (though not always economically) are imperative within and beyond the confines of communities when it comes to making significant change. As I near the end of this year of studies, I am leaving with this sense of the importance of community, of working together, as key when looking at a sustainable future.…
Short Term 12 was a very interesting movie. It had hints of being realistic, but with aspects where you knew it was a movie. It’s about a group of workers who work in a foster care residential facility setting. The main character, Grace, deals with her own personal struggles while she supervises the children at the facility. I have a short bit of experience at a facility like Short Term 12 in some aspects; I can see where parts of the movie are realistic and where are some are an exaggeration because it is a movie.…
Weekly Self S.O.A.P - A. S- Discuss your SUBJECTIVE feelings for this week. This week I was assigned to be in the ICU. To say that I expected to be busy is an understatement. I knew to expect critically ill patients and to see them at their worse with different types of lines and tubes coming out of their bodies. The fragile state in which these patients find themselves was hard for me to see, it was actually a bit overwhelming the first day.…
Final Reflection Assignment ACA 122 course has been an eye opener for me to say the least. I went in not knowing how much information and documents are required for college transfer. Upon completion I can say that this course has helped me acquire all the information needed in preparation to transfer to a four-year university. This course has taught me the knowledge that I need to strive through my educational journey such as the test-taking strategies, reading strategies and the note taking strategies which I find to be very useful. I have also discovered some strengths and weakness that I have regarding my studying skills and I have been working to improve the weaknesses.…
Over the course of English 102, I have developed a new set of skills and learned to become a better writer. When I first came into English 102 I struggled with many different concepts of writing. During the semester in English 102, my writing became stronger because I learned how to incorporate evidence into my argument, do more thorough research, have smoother transitions, and have more organization throughout my essay. I learned how to peer review better and to take what others say and incorporate it into my essay. In the beginning, before English 102, I struggled with good organization and flow to an essay, sandwich evidence into paragraphs, and having strong arguments in persuasive essays.…
Last summer I was given the opportunity to take part in the NOW program (Newcomer Orientation Week) which is organized by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). This program was first introduced to me by the settlement workers in our school who were seeking out for new peer leaders to guide newcomers. The purpose of this week-long program was to help youth newcomers with challenges from transitioning into a completely new world. We had to complete several training sessions dealing with different cases in order to get the best result. The key feature is the role and anticipation of the peer leaders who can express their experiences from their transitioning into a new life.…
The legacy project Dominic and I made was purposed to change the environment of the school. There are many development factors that coincide with such project due to the effort put into the spirit week. Additionally the project was aimed for adolescents who currently go to Western Technical Commercial school. The reason why we tried to tackle such age group was because of how we were determined to make Western Tech a better school in spirit and unity. Dominic and I noticed that there is a lack of school spirit and unity, even when creating a survey for other students they thought that “there [also] is no school spirit” (Presentation).…
Group 4 – Individual Reflection Report What have I learned? During the project, I handled communication with our audience and working on interviews with our targets with my colleagues. I also attended all meetings with our group to discuss and work part by part as scheduled with my classmates.…
