Muslims pray five times a day. The prayer is the direct link between a worshipper and God. In the prayer a person feels inner happiness and peace. The five time daily prayers are obligated upon a Muslim. The third pillar is “zakat” which mean giving alms to the poor and needy. It literally means purification. Zakat is a religious tax that must be paid by all Muslims who have enough income to do so to purify their wealth and should be spent on the needy.” Although the zakat is not regulated by the government, sincere Muslims regard it as an important religious duty. The fourth pillar is fasting. Fasting is performed for 30 days in the holy month of Ramadan. It is required for every Muslim from the age of adolescence until one no longer has the physical strength to do it.
