The Council decided not to do anything to Bach considering they all loved the young artists music. That changed real fast when Bach refused to work the little boys choir for the council economy (Marshall and Lawrence Satorius). Bach soon left and started looking for a new job after that. In 1707 Bach arrived at a small town in Thurginian named Muhalhausen. “Bach found that it was very difficult to settle down and get comfortable as the town just had a devastating fire just before his arrival. He had to pay a high rent just to live because of the fire. Shortly after his arrival he brought his cousin Maria Barbara from Arnstadt, and he later married her at the small church in in the village of Dornheim” (Marshall and Lawrence Satorius). At this time Bach had extremely high values for the music that the churches play in Germany. The next place bach found an opportunity at was Weimar. Weimar was a very small town with only about 5000 people. Despite the very few people in the town bach did meet some very cultured people, including the Duke of Sachsen-Weimar. Bach was becoming pretty famous around this time, becoming known as one of the best German organist. Bach had a bunch of organist come to him from all over the country, wanting him to hear them play and grade them on their organ playing. Skipping to the later part of Bach’s life, he started to lose his eyesight towards his final years. Bach was officially completely blind his final year of his life. “However, even though Bach was completely blind, just days before he passed away, he read parts of the hymn Vor deinen Thron tret’ ich allhier for his son to write down” (notablebiographies.com). The cause of Bach’s death was a stroke and a high fever. “Despite Bach’s death, his music did not die with him as his sons and his family let his legacy live on and they carried on his music” (notablebiograpies.com).
