Arthritis is the swelling and stiffness of ones joints. While most people are not diagnosed with arthritis until they are older people don’t think about the effects of weather until they start feel pain and stiffness. Narrowing down what exactly what weather conditions affect arthritis and why has been difficult seeing how genetics, diet, amount of exercise all play a role in the symptoms of arthritis. However a study that occurred in Belfast at the Musgrave Park Hospital Department of Rheumatology proved weather does play a factor. Data was collected from 133 people based on symptoms of arthritis like how swollen and tender the joint became when introduced to certain weather factors like temperature, humidity, pressure, rainfall to name a few.
