Searchs Revealed In The Shattering By Karen Healy

Through out The Shattering by Karen Healy there have been both intense and emotional searches. Three of the main searches are the overall search the murderer of Keri, Janna and Sione’s brothers. As well as Sione’s search for who he truly is especially now after his brothers death and Janna’s search for love.

Sione was smart and kind and had a bright future; he had always been like that. But after Sione’s brother Mathew died that’s all he was which doesn’t seem very bad but the person who brought out the real him was Mathew. Mathew was athletic and fun along with an extremely kind heart, which brought out the real Sione, which was an often time very fun. But it had been 3 years since Mathew died but still even most things reminded Sione of him. “After the crash, Sione couldn’t stop shaking. Mathew had died in a car (Healey, 58).” Sione’s family is very wealthy so in his opulent life style he doesn’t have much need to go seek fun or adventure because everything he needs is simply brought to him. But before his brother passed that is exactly what they would do, they would seek adventure. I think that perhaps the only thing Sione truly needs to do is go back out and find fun in the world and maybe he also needs someone to do that
