“Each and every animal on earth has as much right to be here as you and me.” ~Anthony Douglas Williams (qtd. in “apna talks”). Despite facing humans animals are still surviving us today and continue to live on.
One animal that has proven to survive the human race is the sea turtles. According to the (Washington Post) more than half of the sea turtles on earth have swallowed some type of plastic. The article goes on to say that sea turtles get the plastic confused with jellyfish. They get it confused because from down below it looks like jellyfish floating up above. In fact, (Washington Post) explains that the problem will get worse if we humans don’t do anything about the plastic problem now instead of later. One lesson that can be learned from all of this is that if each human reduced their plastic use we would help increase the population of not only sea turtles but many other animals. The story of the sea turtle becoming extinct is not the only animal facing the same challenge to stay alive.

According to the (National Wildlife Federation) polar bears are losing their home each day due to global warming. (National Wildlife Federation) also states that because of global warming polar bears have to swim farther and farther out to sea to get to the ice, which is in deep waters, and also has less prey. Polar bears are not only losing ice each day but they are also starving from not getting food. Polar bears also have to eat fast for months because the ice platform where they hunt for seals is moving farther out to sea causing them to swim farther. (National Wildlife Federation) goes on to state that because of the low stock on prey many male polar bears will eat baby cub polar bears. Although polar bears are dealing with global warming there is also many other animals that are becoming extinct

The loss of these animals also economically affects us. The main way this happens is by leaving us with a loss of food. For example Polar Bears diet heavily relies on seals. Of course they need ice to hunt these seals, and now that climate change is melting ice caps they don't have the land it takes to hunt seals. Once…

Killer whales are getting endangered fast due to global warming. Hudson bay in canada is a frozen bay and 2 adult orcas and 9 youths got stuck in a whole in the ice due to climate change. Antarctic ice will cause a decrease in the killer whale habitats, there will be less food for the killer whale. People still don't known if the killer whales will be able to adapt to other types of living. If we stop cities from making pollution the temperature will lower and the ice will not melt so the killer whales will be safer.…

Now the abundance has been slowly decreasing over the years and is now in a state of endanger or collapse. The green turtles are now in this state from hunting, being killed in fishing gear, overharvesting of their eggs, humans taking over their nesting sites and etc. There are many ways to help keep these beautiful green turtles from being endangered such as keeping the beaches clean and private where they can have their nesting sites and also by not overharvesting the green turtle…

Polar bear’s population in the Arctic Circle are being severely limited by climate change, food scarcity, and oil exploration. Polar bears are one of the largest land carnivores in the world, but their populations are increasing dropping due to changes in their habitat. Polar bears live on the edges of packs of ice surrounded by seas. “IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group show that three subpopulations are in decline and that there is a high estimated risk of future decline due to climate change.” Climate change is one of the greatest threat to polar bears.…

With increasing temperatures, species who survive in lower temperatures, are greatly affected by the extreme weather changes. For instance, researchers have predicted that polar bears are being negatively affected by climate changes (Molnár). In addition, polar bears are not able to survive; on the contrary, a great amount would die of starvation since they are not able to eat as much. Also, since polar bears fast while in the hibernation stage, it is being predicted that 28-48% would die of starvation before the end of the fasting period…

Most of the bears live in the poles including the polar bears, the main species of my paper. Most of north lands are covered by ice and snow which restraints behavior of animals at some extent. Also, the white color of the polar bears can be helpful to hide from predator. The polar bears (Ursus maritimus) eat mainly ringed and bearded seals located on the border of the Canadian arctic. Those seals are killed by polar bears during breathing holes depending on the availability of seals in the ecological niche (Stirling and Archibald 1977).…

Due to the carbon dioxide levels increasing over time, the acidification of the ocean has become much stronger. Behavior patterns are not the only thing changing because of the rising temperatures; the migration patterns are changing as well. I chose to analyze a marine science article published by Inside Science News. The article, “Ocean Acidification May Change How Sharks Behave,” was based on a study that was trying to prove how swimming patterns and temperature changes would affect a shark’s behavioral patterns.…

How Is Global Warming Affecting the Polar Bears? As changes in climatic temperatures melt sea ice, the US Geological Survey predicted that two-thirds of the polar bear population will die out by the year 2050. A dramatic decline in polar bears is already occurring in our lifetime, which, according to historical data, is but a very small fraction of the time these animals have roamed the vast seas of the Arctic. The main threat to the polar bears is the loss of their sea-ice habitat that is caused by global warming.…

1 Dec. 2015. The scholarly article, “Polar Bears in a Warming Climate,” uses the scenarios predicted by climate change models to explore the progressing sea ice changes in the Artic and assess the changes that will lead to dramatic shifts in trophic interactions between polar bears and their main pray: seals. The article argues that all polar bears show behavioral plasticity but given the rapid pace of ecological change in the Arctic, the long generation time, and the highly specialized nature of polar bears, it is unlikely that polar bears will survive…

Global Warming If you ever wanted to see polar bears in the wild, your time is running out. Global warming is causing polar bears, and many other species to go extinct. Global warming, also known as climate change, is the rising of the Earth’s temperature due to greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, getting trapped in the atmosphere. When the gases can not leave the atmosphere, they absorb radiation and sunlight from the sun and make the atmosphere warmer.…
