Holbox is a very small island but is visited by thousands of tourists from around the world, is known for its beautiful beaches, its tours to swim with the whale shark, and the learning oportunities to see ocean live. The island is very small but beautiful, not many hotels and a population of less than 1,500 inhabitants. Something very special about this island are the beaches. The color of the water and sand makes an amazing mix of blue and aqua, the texture of the sand is very different from the common sand found at the beach.…

The Media This past summer, reports of dry or near drowning experiences kept many families away lakes, pools and the like. People.com, formerly known as People Magazine, interviewed one family to share their story. Despite warnings, the Delgado family were not deterred from having fun in the sun this past Memorial Day weekend at the Texas City Dike (“Boy-Four-Dry Drowning,” 2017). However, little did they realize that later in the following week, they would lose their 4-year old son Frankie to what the hospital could only explain as dry-drowning.…

I sat down by myself and reflected. After tens of thousands of hours of devotion, swimming has become a huge part of who I am, and will no doubt shape the person I will come to be. One of the earliest lessons swimming taught me was to never give up. When I was 9, swimming taught me to fight the fatigue during lap two of a race. When I was twelve, swimming taught me to attack race two with everything I had, even if race one hadn't gone my way.…
