Scrooge In A Christmas Carol

The main character Scrooge is a guy who is mean and disrespectful in the begging of the whole story. His name Scrooge means that he is a hard hearted person. His friend Marley was a women who was his business partner who had died in the story represents mankind. The ghost that visits Scrooge means memory, charity, and fear of death. Charles Dickens reminds his readers throughout the story that you should notice the crowd and group of people that you hang out with. In the opening chapter or stave the author Charles Dickens describes him as a depressed man and a man who does not celebrate Christmas. Marley finds Scrooge and is in chains and he is also in a draped cloth. He is covered with locks from a door, keys, and also padlocks. The chains that are on Marley represent the value while you are on earth and must deal with the torture because of his selfishness while he was on earth. Later on Scrooge fmds out that he has chains on him like Marley did when the ghost first saw Scrooge. But the chins that Scrooge wore was longer than the chains that Marley was wearing. This man named Jacob warns Scrooge about how he has to socialize with other people. If he does not socialize with those people they will follow him until his death or afler his death. The author Charles dickens uses the character Marley as the whole theme of the whole book. He gives Marley a bunch of good phrases and good speeches throughout the chapters. One thing is good is that he tells Scrooge some good advice about his own life. Marley tells Scrooge that he needs to get his life back together in the right shape so that he won't end up like how Marley did. Each of the spirits that visits Scrooge between Christmas Eve. Each of the spirits took
