Scrooge is beginning to worry about people other than himself. “ ‘ If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future the child will die.’ ‘No, no, kind Spirit! say he will be spared.’ “ This is a recurring display of empathy. This shows that Scrooge has further progressed in change. He is still continuing to change. He changes but the end is really what shows all of this wasn’t for nothing. In the end of the novella Scrooge has completed his change and is very excited about it. He laughs and is very excited that he is not dead and still has time to change. “Really for a man who had been out of practice for so many years, it was a splendid laugh, a most illustrious laugh. The father of a long, long line of brilliant laughs!... ‘I’ll send it to Bob Cratchit's!’ Whispered Scrooge,”. This proves he has changed completely and won’t go back to the way he was before. He is done changing for the good and lives happily ever after. Reading A Christmas Carol was really fun. Scrooge changed a lot and it was very interesting finding and analyzing the difference in Scrooge throughout the book; but Scrooge wouldn’t have changed with out seeing himself as a
