For instance, when my brother first watched the animation “Tarzan,” he thought that all people could swing across vines with ease. With no basic knowledge of the consequences that could follow a spring across the window span, my brother decided to try it out. He hopped on to the dining table, grabbed a chunk of the curtain fabric, and took off, shredding the drapery and barely escaping without breaking a limb. Though a mild example in comparison to acting out a murder scene, the point remains that children cannot help but learn the actions shown on TV, because they cannot filter fiction from actuality. Further, most shows display some form of unsuitable thematic elements, such as explicit cursing. Hearing certain words repeatedly numb the impact of the insults and leave kids, and even adults, with a dirty mouth. However, no one can blame a child for their language, since they do not understand why they should not copy a swearing character, especially if the character represents a hero in the tale.
