Yaa Asantewa the queen mother of Ashanti stands up for what she believes in and decides not to stand for how the British governor spoke to the chief of Ashanti. Yaa Asantewa takes matters into her own hands, if men won’t stand up for what's right then the women should and wage war until every last one that is daring to speak to the chief in this matter go down. Henceforth, in comparison to the other documents, document seven is about shedding blood as well. In this document Samuel Maherero a leader of the Herero people is exhausted with the Germans having no remorse for killing his people, they do what they feel like when they feel like doing it. Samuel wants all chiefs to rise up into battle and die trying than die doing nothing. As said in the previous chapter in this rebellion about a hundred traders and farmers were killed, the German responded by trying to exterminate the two African groups which were a quarter of the original population that was made up of 100,000 people, the Herero and Nama survived the slaughter that soon followed. The first document that shows peace is document one, it is a contract that states to better their country they will not enter any war without the consent of the Royal Niger Company to ensure they maintain their territory. Document two indicates Prempeh I the Ashanti leader was offered by the British protection, but he declined and he stated they will never be under the influence of this policy and rather remain friendly with all White men. Another document that signifies serenity is document three where Menelik II emperor of Ethiopia ensures that although their boundaries on the sea fell into the Muslims hand, he believes his savior, Jesus Christ will restore everything without being violent to another and this is his hope. Therefore, these are some documents that fall into the category serenity because no one is violent, but straightforward and handles things in a direct and appropriate
