"Racism springs from the lie that certain human beings are less than fully human. It's a self- centered falsehood that corrupts our minds into believing we are right to treat others as we would not want to be treated" (Alveda King). For all of time, racism has been a huge part of life, although we as people have tried to eliminate it, we have failed to conquer it. In today's day racism is still apart of our everyday lives and affects how we live, how we are as people and how our mind thinks. Tragic events throughout history have shaped the world. Tragic events impact our nation greatly, they affect us, and can initially tear us apart. Many of the characters in the Scottsboro trials are greatly affected, and the effect of this situation has hurt there life and the people involved in it.

Some may ask why? because he is a white man and was appointed there case, but in all seriousness Samuel actually cared a lot about these boys and new the importance of justice and what actual justice was. More then anything he fought for theses boys and what they deserved. He knew that those colored boys didn't rape Ruby Bates and Victoria Price, that the story or statement he was told from those young men was truth. To fight so hard for something that is completely right and lose, hurts and can bring a great deal of pain. To want something so much and not get it, is saddening and frustrating. its like a child wanting a toy but cannot have it and initially makes them start to cry. I believe that is was Sameul felt because not only did he want that for those boys he worked hard for it.Overall that will greatly hurt and effect
