Scott W. William was born, on April 22, 1943 and died when he was 73. He lived in a called Staten, New York City, New York, United States and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents names were Berley E. Williams and Roger K. Williams. He went to a couple of universities called Morgan State University and Lehigh. He got a Bachelor degree in Science in Mathematic from Morgan State University. Scott also has a Master's degree in Science from Lehigh University, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1967. As well as a PhD in Mathematics from Lehigh University in 1967. A couple of accomplishments that was achieved by Scott was that in 2004, Scott was elected to be one of the 50 Most Important Blacks in Research by Science Spectrum Magazine and Career Communication Group. In 1971, Scott was an Assistant Professor of Mathematic at the State University of New York after several year Scott kept his focus and easily got advanced to a full …show more content…
Scott’s grandfather (who was white) was teaching all six of the people in the family and also was a luggage carrier for the family. The reason why Scott’s grandfather had to do all this is because the William Penn Hotel (which is in the capital of Pennsylvania) would not help Scott and his family at all because there family was black. We should remember the name Scott W. William because he was the founder of Blacks and Third World Mathematician, he was the first American Mathematical Society, and he published 37 books and he has 5 World Web Publications. Another reason why we should remember Scott W. William’s name is because himself and William Massey were the creators of The Competition for African American Researchers in the Mathematical Science in 1997. In conclusion, Scott W William had some obstacles and challenges he had to overcome to get where he was and why we should remember his name
