People who are suddenly painted as a villain and are unused to it can often be scared off, and will retreat into the shadows. Those who do not can be made a mockery of, and are often viewed as laughable even by people who don’t know what’s going on, but saw the attacks made against them, and choose to believe them. It can be a bandwagon fallacy, with multiple people ganging up on one or two others to strike them down and make them agree that Scott is indeed Werewolf Jesus and that they are terrible, racist people. It is also a somewhat subtle appeal to force, hinting that, ‘If you don’t agree, you’re racist. You don’t want to be racist, do you?’ It is a false premise, as, like I said before, his race is not even considered in most, if not all of the criticisms made, at least those by reasonable people, and going along with that is a non sequitur. It is also missing the point, those who use it often completely ignore any good points their opponents may have made, dismissing them with their magic argument.
