For this scoreboard project we need to be in a group of two people. We need to make the result, which a person sit on the table, face the door of our classroom and use a design to make this person able to see the scoreboard on the soccer field.
For our design, we used two mirrors two straight tubes and one straight tube with two 45-degree elbows.
First, we cut the tube with elbows into two pieces with the same length. We used tap to tie the mirrors on the both sides of the tube. Two mirrors would be facing each other by 90 degrees. The scoreboard would be facing the first mirror by 45 degrees. The second mirror would be facing the person, who sitting on the table and look straightforward by 45 degrees. Then 45 degrees plus 90 degrees plus 45 degrees would be 180 degrees, which was the same as the degree between the person and the scoreboard. With this design, the person would able to see the scoreboard through two mirrors. The length of tube was the same as the length between the person and the window. We thought about make the angle between two mirrors smaller and make the angle between the first mirror to the scoreboard bigger. However, we could not see the scoreboard because light could not …show more content…
When light rays bounce off a complete smooth surface, such as mirrors, we are able to see clear reflection. In our design, light came to the first mirror and the reflection from the first mirror got into the second mirror. The reflection from the second mirror got into our eyes. Through the mirror, we are able to see things that are in front of the mirror. Also it is depending on what angle we get. If we stay in 45 degrees angle, we will see things skew. Another issue was, things in the mirror are smaller than the real one because surface of the mirror can reflect light differently when it is not even. For our design, the bigger mirrors we used, the more clear we can
