The purpose of this posting is to discuss the nurse’s scope of practice as defined by the American Nurses Association and the Ohio nurse’s scope of practice as defined by the Ohio Board Of Nursing. The nurse standard of practice according the American Nurses “coincide with the nursing process to represent the directive nature of the standards as the professional nurse completes each component of the nursing process” (ANA, 2010 p3). In terms, the nurse should have a clear understanding of the nursing process, master the skills and implement them according to reflect and maintain compliance with the nurse scope of practice.
