The Importance Of A Work Breakdown Structure

Decent Essays
In week 3, I will be discussing the purpose of a work breakdown structure (WBS). Examples of my vision of a dream house to establish WBS. I will also be discussing why WBS should be used and what are some WBS formats being used. Who will be responsible and constructing the WBS? I will be defining what the WBS dictionary is and what it is used for. In my conclusion, I will go over the information gathered during my discovery of WBS. What is the purpose of the WBS? A standard definition of work breakdown structure is a deliverable-oriented hierarchical decomposition so that we are breaking something down or apart of the work to be executed by the team to accomplish the project objectives and create the required deliverables (Bridges, 2014). Its purpose is to organize and define the total scope (Bridges, 2014). Basically, the deliverables of the WBS is the purpose for planning, executing, and controlling the project scope (Kloppenborg, 2015, p. 151). Example of a house that I would design: Using indented outline format (Kloppenborg, 2015, p. 152) Project- My dream house- Project management
