In addition, Lacks and Pillemer (2015) report elder abuse as physical abuse or acts carried out with intent to cause pain, injury, psychological or emotional pain or injury, verbal or sexual abuse of any kind, financial exploitation including property, and neglect or failure by caregiver or responsible person to meet the needs of dependent older adults.
