They are used to establish benchmarks and monitor student progress. They can be different for every school district or school but they are all along the same line. They are usually not a detailed report of student’s strengths of weaknesses but more of a general idea of where a student stands. Data teams are used in tier 1 to connect and examine data collaboratively. Data teams are defined as teams of educators such as teachers, school psychologists, or administrators, that are responsible for data analysis and decision making (McQuillan & Coleman 2008). These meetings are held with school members, teacher, and families. Guardians play a major role in supporting their students learning in school. After all these meetings a student may be found to be eligible for special education that are highly focused on student’s specific needs. An individualized education program (IEP) is made and will be important throughout the child’s schooling. SRBI can be a very successful application when all key features are met. Each section of the tiers are important along with high‐quality ethical teaching, collaboration of all people involved, correct data, and family engagement help build upon the accomplishment of a struggling student.
